Lead Shot – Warp the Strip
Nikon D5000 , Nikkor 10 - 24 mm , Nikon SB-600 , exposure 14.8 second gear , f/8 , 10 mm , ISO 200 . I grind away a tripod in the back of my car , two legs in the threshold sills , one extending into the proboscis through the armrest gob . I had a friend repel my car on a busybodied highway as I break down away in bulb mode . I strobed the Interior Department of the car twice with a speedlight off camera . I shot in RAW so that I could afterward work on as a HDR picture in photomatix . Yes , that is a electric battery manoeuver fm radio chock up into the dash with the antenna extend , do n’t pass judgment me .
[ erectile dysfunction note : My preferent part of this shot was the use of a 10 mm lens . It widened the scope of the shot , making the perspective feel more like a cockpit than just a machine . ]

Guy on a Bike
I ’ve been using a Canon Rebel XTi coupled with a 50 mm 1.8 prime lens of the eye . This shot was during the good afternoon and I used ISO 100 and f/22 with 1/20 shutter speed to shoot it . This was a shot of a random stranger on a cycle . I was about to give up shooting cars but then i look this Isle of Man on a bike and decide to take a depiction of him . Turned out nice . originally taken in color but I tweaked it in iPhoto .
[ Ed note : It seems as if this bozo is nonchalantly decease 90MPH down the highway . ]

[Fill In Generic Star Wars Reference]
Taken with a Canon 5d Mark II and 24 - 105 mm F4 L lense , at 24 mm . Aperture was as small as potential at f 22 , with ISO 200 and a 2 stop neutral density filter , resulting in a 1/5th of a second shutter velocity . The hardest part about snaffle this dig was avert getting blasted by all the stormtroopers milling about . Fortunately , I do n’t think those helmets offer great visibility … Seriously though , I decide to dig up one of my old Star Wars action figures and mount it to the handle of my video tripod a foot in front of the television camera genus Lens . Then it was merely a matter of walk to the route , lining up the trooper & wheel above the road , and snapping a ikon while I panned the camera . Some photoshopping was necessary to remove the tripod handle and add a shadow under the bike .
[ Ed note : Clever fishing tackle , you could do a whole series of tiptop hero action design like this , mid - scrap . ]

Car Commercial
Nikon D90 , Nikkor 70 - 300 mm f/4.5 - 5.6 VR , 1/350 , ISO 100 , f/5 , 185 mm . fix : Calgary , Alberta , Canada . We have a comparatively new “ ring - route ” that plug in two major main road quite close to my business firm .
The speed limit is … .well … .fast … .and people seem to really coldcock it when parry down this fresh asphalt . I was out for a promenade along the unripened space adjacent to an area in between the highway and my house where I sit along the fence line and practiced shooting for a LONG TIME . This was an extremely difficult challenge and I missed the mark on slews of elbow room cooler look sports cars . I last managed to entrance this Infinity operate about 140 kilometres per hour , powerful when it started to rain down force me inside….lucky .
[ Ed bank bill : The deep colors and dividing line , mix with a right amount of fuzz , produce a hyperreal result for a conservative sedan chair cruising down the road . ]

D’Funnybone
This is Edgar Prado hinge on D’Funnybone while approaching the gate for the eleventh race on August twenty-eighth 2010 , the 26th track of the King ’s Bishop , at the Saratoga Race Course . The guesswork was require handheld with a Canon 50D with the EF 70 - 200 mm f2.8 IS II electron lens at 88 mm , 1/40 seconds at f/11 , ISO 100 , shutter antecedency , and image stabilisation mode 2 was on . I had been camp out along the fence for over two hours , baking in the sun . D’Funnybone ran from his handler giving me a gross chance to get an marooned shot of him in motion . I knew I could not stop the motion of the horse and still reach background fuzz , but feel that I could immobilize the jockey and show the motion and energy of the horse along with the bleary background . D’Funnybone sadly did not win the backwash .
[ male erecticle dysfunction note : Pretty interesting that the jockey is abrupt while the sawhorse , with so much contrasting vertical movement , oft fuzz . ]

World’s Smallest Station Wagon
Shot handheld on a Canon 500D , with Tamron 18 - 50 mm 2.8 genus Lens , at 50 mm , f6.3 and 1/25s . I was really looking forward to this week ’s challenge , as one of my favorite interest in Hanoi is to just pose on a wayside coffee bar and observe the crazy traffic of minibike carrying all sorts of thing . Unfortunately , the conditions was really lousy this WE , so i did n’t get as much time as i would ’ve hoped for to practise my panning skill . However i still managed between two pelting showers to get of few shooting of vietnamese families riding their cycle on the road ( sometimes up to 4 per minibike ! ) . I Hope you relish this typical Vietnamese tantrum .

Roller Derby
Equipment : Nikon D90 & 18 - 200 mm VR - II lens
preferences : 35 mm , 1/20th sec , f/8 , ISO640 . The pic was take at the August 28th New Hampshire Roller Derby forked - header . Madame Scurrie of the Queen City Cherry Bombs was passing the pack on the exterior as lead jammer . The Queen City Cherry Bombs went on to beat the Elm City Derby Damez 95 - 17 .
[ Ed note : A great example of how a pic technique can aggravate the nature of a moment . ]

Winner – Jeep
Canon 50D , F/14 , 1/20sec , ISO-100 . This photograph was a squad feat . It was shot in a field a few miles from my home . Dad was driving the Jeep ( 1954 Willys ) and my married woman was driving our truck . I was lay in the bed of the hand truck take hold the camera as well-nigh to the primer coat as I could reach . I set the camera up to shoot in high speed mode with servomechanism centering and just snapped aside since I could n’t see the covert or through the eyepiece . After a few unlike stage setting this one forge the best . It was unmanageable to match the swiftness of the vehicles and the recoil as we went over off - road obstacles . All three of us had a blast .
[ erectile dysfunction note : The chunky , utilitarian Jeep design mixes with the perfect sharpness of the photo in a grand way . When you notice that the bicycle and sens are a fuzz , it almost seems unsufferable that the fomite is in such first-class focus . attractively executed shaft . Also , I want your dad ’s Jeep . ]
