Acer ’s rendering is slightly thin and slightly heavier than Apple ’s original , but only to an extent that an electronic musical scale will notice . Beyond dimensions , the total industrial intention has been copy and pasted . The aluminum frame — same shape . The wide , buttonless trackpad . The chiclet keyboard . The MacBook - y black hinge . Everyone want a lean and wakeful ( and herculean ! ) laptop , but it ’s clean Acer ’s test to cash in in on Cupertino ’s design artistry . It certainlywouldn’t be the firsttime someone’stried it .
