During the show, Drew Barrymore let her guests know that she was pretty nervous about an upcoming date.

“Funny enough, I have my first date in a long time,” the host, 48, began.

Turner, 33, chimed in, saying he was “excited” for her evening, but she admitted she wasn’t. “I’m not. I dread these things because, yeah, they’re awkward,” Barrymore said.

Interested in learning more about the rendezvous, Turner asked what the plans for the date were.

“We were gonna go all the way downtown for this long dinner. Everyone says when you go on a date with someone, ‘Don’t do the dinner. Do a drink.’ But I don’t know any better,” theCharlie’s Angelsalum said.

“I like the dinner,” Butler said of the evening itinerary, adding that sitting down for a meal gives you a chance to “actually talk.”

“You’re going to have a great time,” he assured her.

Barrymore still seemed hesitant, asking what she should do if she got “weird vibes” from her date.

“Then you go to the bathroom and call a friend, and you have them give you a surprise call” Butler suggested. “You want me to do that?”

A seemingly relieved Barrymore confessed that she’d met the “complete stranger” on “a dating app.”

This was not Barrymore’s first time being vocal about looking for love online.

During Friday’s episode of her show, Barrymore claimed she was quitting dating apps after a man she’d been talking withlied about being an NFL quarterback. She told co-hostRoss Mathewsshe was “about to get off” dating apps because of the interaction.

“Every time I get on there it does not feel great. I always last five days,” Barrymore said about online dating. “And this time my app has changed where it shows people like you so it’s very flattering… but I don’t know who anyone is, and it just feels scary to go out with a stranger.”

Mathews jokingly let her know that was the point. “Newsflash, that is how they work! You’re not supposed to know them. You don’t go on a dating app to meet people you already know,” he said.

She told Mathews that the person she’d been chatting with online “said he was the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams.” In reality, he was a musician who “thought he was being cute.”

“You should feel lied to, robbed. I had a fantasy you’d be likethe new Taylor Swift and you’d be at the games,” the co-host quipped.
