As a fan of Hugh Howey ’s leger , I am quite frantic to watchApple TV+ ’s alive - action version of the hit sci - fi seriesSilo , about the remnant of humanity who have been living in an underground dugout for so long they ’ve forgotten why they ’re there . But Apple has just revealed the curtain raising credits for the adaption , and I could n’t help but note they seem a little … hmm . Just heed — and watch — for yourself .
Here ’s composer Atli Örvarsson ’s porta to Silo :
And now , for comparison , here ’s Westworld , by Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi :

Am I crazy ? I do n’t think I ’m crazy . The music sounds so much likewise , from the sinister , increasingly unrestrained pianissimo to that last chord . ( Is it in the same key ? I do n’t have sex much about euphony , but it seems very penny-pinching if it ’s not . ) And the visuals , full of languidly moving snippet meant to be reminiscent of the series and its melodic theme give it the same vibration , even if one ’s about robots and the other ’s about an passing vertical atomic bunker .
This is not a judgment call ! If you ’re going to compose an first step credit birdsong for a dystopian skill fiction TV series , you could do a fate unfit than being inspired by the opening for the dystopian science fiction TV serial Westworld . But now I ’m curious to see how much , if at all , Silo itself will also endeavor to evoke the recentlycanceled and dumpedHBO serial . Given that the Silo serial was created and run by Graham Yost , who also did the same for the excellent albeit non - sci - fi serial Justified , I ’m honestly not specially worried about it not being estimable television receiver , however it shakes out .
Silo premieres on May 5 , and sensation Rebecca Ferguson , Common , Harriet Walter , Chinaza Uche , Avi Nash , David Oyelowo , Rashida Jones , and Tim Robbins .
