This past fall,Cox told PEOPLEthat she’s wanted to portray her character Monica Geller on the small screen again, but the possibilities may be slim to none.
“People ask us all the time, ‘Will we ever do a remake?’ That was a story about these group of people that are friends in their 30s who are finding themselves. I don’t know if there’s a way to redo it,” Cox said at the Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program Luncheon in New York. “I just don’t see it happening. Even though I would do anything to be in a room with all of those people acting and having a great time. But I don’t see it happening.”
While few understand the deep sentiments surrounding a series coming to an end, both Cox and Cuoco certainly do. Cuoco, who plays Penny on the CBS sitcom, shared an emotional set of posts to Instagram on Wednesday marking the series’ very last table read before it wraps for good in May.
“Yea, didn’t sleep,” she captioned a photo of the final script, which reads, “End of series” across the front.
In addition to a photo of her holding the script in her arms as the tears flowed, Cuoco posted a third picture that showed off the many tissues she needed to make it through the read.
“Prepare yourselves … for a finale that has truly given me a loss for words ❤️ Our whole universe …..,” she captioned the post.
