Sprint ’s announcement about the roll - out of Android 2.2 is dim , saying only that it ’ll be seen on their Android phones soon , with the HTC EVO 4 G confirmed for the spiffy update — norooting necessary . The following ( unsurprising ) confirmation from Sprint –

While Motorola has n’t formally commented on when their android — the DEXT , Droid andDroid X — will receive Froyo , a leaked memo from Motorola evoke that the Droid X will get the update in “ later August , ” whereas the Droid will have it in late July .

UPDATE : defective news for many Sprint users . The HTC Hero and Samsung Moment WON’T be commence Froyo according to Sprint ’s chirrup accounting . Yet another reason whyskinned rendering of Android must cash in one’s chips .
