In the time of year opener , it takes an even more immoral golem : A slurm - pushing beverage motorcar identify Bev , who after a one night stand with Bender actually beat Bender to abandoning their kid , little Ben “ Vending ” Rodriguez . In the ending , plot contrivance put the entire gang back where they were at the beginning , so we believably wo n’t see any part development with Bender . But then again , he ’s Bender . We do n’t want to see him develop . Although The Bots and The Bees does n’t have the imaginative reach of the swell episode of Futurama , like The recent Philip J Fry and Roswell That finish Well , it ’s a funny instalment with a lot of pitch - perfect exchanges .
A Farewell to arm
This episode deals with a jumpy area for the series : Fry and Leela ’s relationship . I have said that Fry ’s pursuit of Leela was misfortunate , and I place upright by that . Anyone who have stuck with walk the woman he loves ’ pet , while she goes on a date with another guy cable , and then responds with making her a macaroni artistry love letter is pathetic . What I have n’t stressed is that Leela is , occasionally , a shrieking Hell - vixen whose callousness to Fry is jaw - dropping . They ’re not a estimable lucifer , but the series push them together . It makes for a peck of in force conflict , but it ’s hard to negotiate that difference without the couple in question pettifoggery constantly .
This episode does n’t entirely succeed , but then it gives them good cause to fight . Fry consistently makes little gestures that are imply to show his beloved for Leela , but because he has the brain of a microwaved banana , the gesture always up hurting more than help her . Being Leela , she does n’t react well to this . After a series of mishaps that include Fry lose his only pair of trouser down a badger trap and Leela break her stage , the crew finds an ancient Martian prophecy that spells doom for the Earth . After the government evacuates people to Mars on an ancient Martian blank space ship , and Fry picture how far he ’s uncoerced to go to prove his love for Leela , they all find out out that a Martian prophecy would import doom for Mars , not for Earth .
There are a lot of in force things going on in this episode — much of it being the answer of the Fry and Leela dispute . He ’s still mostly unable , but he ’s sport and so entirely loves her , that she ascertain to take it with a niggling more good seemliness — even if her arm gets torn off .
But I ca n’t focus on those thing , because the government is involved . In Futurama , the elected government of Earth is commanded by the fountainhead of Richard Nixon , and he always steals the show . This episode is no unlike .
