It was n’t complete , but “ El Cucuy ” has in spades been the high spot of Grimm ’s third time of year for me so far . It ’s Wesen - o’-the - hebdomad ( who possibly was n’t a Wesen ? ) was pretty good , the plotting was square and it actually feel like actual thing were bechance beyond the scope of the case — not much , but at least a little .
Two luchadores ( okay , they ’re actually just thugs wearing luchadore masks , but I favor my version ) plume a throttle station and kick the hell out of the 18 - yr - old kid working there . At the hospital , the kid ’s Latina mother implore for the thieves to get their asses complain , so they do n’t make any other mother sad . This is basically the hotline to El Cucuy , a Latino boogeyman who , in the universe of Grimm , at least , kills risky guys for mamma .
El Cucuy comes and shoot the pharynx out of the bad guys , repeatedly ( it ’s very messy ) . Nick and Hank are passably certain that wild dogs did it , but they do quickly concede it could have been a Wesen , so they are making some progression there . Meanwhile , they meet a former Marine named Florez at the criminal offence setting , who wants his crime - ridden vicinity cleanse up , although his architectural plan to do this seems to be standing around crime scene and yelling at the police force they suck at their occupation . He is so very obviously El Cucuy .
Here ’s the bad part : We know the murderer is El Cucuy , because we saw it kill those guy , and the title of the episode is “ El Cucuy . ” But Nick and Hank enquire this other dude with ties to the hood , but who also has savage dogs and he ’s a Wesen ( a Hollentier , specifically ) , because of trend he is . We have sex this is a major barren of prison term , but the episode keep with it until minute 40 , when El Cucuy kill a rapist while the Hollentier is in jailhouse , and this new victim allege the thing that killed her assailant looked like El Cucuy , which earns Nick a slip to Pilar to get schooled on the creature .
The Hollentier is unloose , and he directly beats up Florez , who decides to strike back by putting his Marine uniform and grabbing a knife — not a very El Cucuy - ish affair to do . Then Nick and Hank get footage of the bus the second victim exited , and see the same previous angelic lady who was hanging around the first law-breaking ! You tricked me , Grimm ! Well done there .
So Nick and Hank pick up the old noblewoman , get a call that Florez is about to attack the Hollentier , repulse by , and rescue Florez while the nice old lady get out , transforms into a monster , and kills all the sorry guys with a truly impressive amount of violence . It terminate with the sweet old lady cover up in blood , which is just as screaming as it sounds .
Back at the precinct , the sometime lady flat out tells Nick he ca n’t arrest her , because he ca n’t reveal her true nature , and no jury would ever believe she brutally murdered six dudes , and besides , her workplace is done here ( apparently the neck of the woods crime was n’t quite as bad as Florez made it out ) . The close . Right there . Done .
Assorted rumination :
• thing that happened that were n’t part of the chief taradiddle : Nick secernate Juliette about his mom . Nick ’s mom is in trouble in Slovakia but they ca n’t do anything to help . Munroe told his momma about Rosalee . Adalind discovered her baby has two hearts . Renard learned Adalind ’s baby has two heart .
• Juliette was passing helpful this installment , was n’t she ? It ’s gracious , but would n’t we all rather have Nick and Munroe back together ? I sense like Munroe and Rosalee are being wasted as “ Bosom Wesen Buddies , ” or whatever the blaze is happening there .
• Munroe and Rosalee were stag all over the Hollentier , calling their entire Wesen race deplorable morons . Can Wesens be racist to each other ?
