Two people, including a 21-year-old newlywed, died following a car crash on Black Friday.
The Dodge collided with a Honda Accord just after 4:30 p.m. local time. Inside the Accord were a 21-year-old man, who was driving, and a 21-year-old female passenger.
Both the man driving the Dodge and the woman riding in the Accord were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge appeared to be “traveling too fast” for the road’s icy conditions prior to the crash, according to police.
Awinter weather advisorywas in effect at the time of the crash, according to the National Weather Service.

The driver of the Accord was hospitalized with what police describe as “serious injuries.”
Family members have identified the man who survived as Kelsie’s husband, Chase Tingen. According to a message shared onGoFundMe, loved ones said Kelsie “married the love of her life” just four months before the deadly crash.

“She was over the moon to begin their life together, never shy to express her love for him to those around her,” read a message on the online fundraiser.
Kelsie was also described as “a fun, spunky ray of sunshine whose light came from her love of the Savior Jesus Christ."

Chase, who is currently attending Brigham Young University, “has a long road” of physical and emotional recovery ahead of him, per the dunraiser. But his loved ones believe he has “a great spirit with him."
“His love for people and optimistic outlook are contagious,” they wrote in a message. “He has a deep love for both of his families.”
As of Wednesday afternoon, over $30,000 has been raised via GoFundMe for both families as they cope with the aftermath of the unexpected tragedy.
“Unfortunately, the life insurance policy Kelsie’s parents had for her expired on her 21st birthday,” her family wrote on the page. “Please consider making a donation to help ease the financial burden of all affected.”
