Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, showed their respect toQueen Elizabethon the balcony of Buckingham Palace duringTrooping the Colouron Saturday — and the prince helped his new bride nail one of the most important moments of the day.

Harry was spotted adorably promptingMeghan when to curtsyupon his grandmother’s official arrival. (Members of the royal family bow or curtsy to the Queen if they’re seeing her for the first time that day.)

As the moment approached, Meghan asked Harry under her breath, “Do it?” And he replied, “Yes,” before she curtsied and he bowed his head in respect at the sight of his grandmother, the Queen.

Trooping the Colouris an annual event that marks theofficial celebration of the Queen’s birthday.

The newlyweds arrived at the royal event in a traditional horse-drawn carriage.

Kate took the kids to the fayre and came back with a Slinky toy and some water pistols that he dueled with a friend. The colorful Slinky is normally balanced on the top step and it then curls itself down the stairs. George, who is five next month, had other ideas. “He charged around trailing it in the air behind him,” one source says.

“I thought Harry looked more tense than Meghan in the carriage,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “On the balcony, he was more relaxed. It was the same on the wedding day. It took her a while to relax into what was going on.”

“But coming back (from the parade), it all seemed to go swimmingly,” adds the onlooker.
